Translations
During the translation process I always keep the client’s brief and the intended audience in mind. I am sensitive towards any cultural specifics and nuances in the source text and take great care in rendering these in the translated text. I believe that a translation should be faithful to its original, but it should also come across to the reader as a fluent and convincing piece of writing in its own right.
My subject areas are africa, animal rights, architecture, art, berlin, cultural history, design, education and learning, gardens, germany, great britain, human rights, judaica, literature, marketing, music, photography, politics, popular culture, social history, sudan, tourism, travel, universal design...
I have translated abstracts, essays, journal articles, autobiography, narrative non-fiction, illustrated non-fiction, general non-fiction, exhibition catalogues, festival programmes, picture captions, CD booklets, websites, marketing texts, press releases, language teaching and learning materials...
